To make the ISA, you will need to find an inverter (it looks just like a battery charger) and solar panel parts. They spawn in hardware loot, like warehouses and garages. The inverter is used to make a battery bank, and the panels have to be wired and/or mounted. You might also run into "deep cycle batteries". Grab those too.

How does ISA work?

ISA lets you hook a gasoline generator as a backup. Once the battery juice runs out, it kickstarts the old reliable guzzler to pick up the slack . True to fashion, you can even craft a "failsafe" controller to "place" in the same cell as the generator to control it. Requires a v3 remote which is kind of hard to craft.

My experience with the ISA mod. ISA = immersive solar arrays. The mod, for those who dont know it, is an alternative to the gasoline generator. Still requires a specific magazine. It leans heavily into crafting, using electric and metalwork materials. While the generator is plug and play, the ISA is more like LEGO.
